First Performance

The first performance went fabulously!! WOW! Our director has done some amazing things with these kids and they just ran with it. My only sadness is, I wish we had our own stage. A real stage where we can build sets, have practices, have performances, charge money (so we can do more amazing plays), etc. Someday this will happen if I can help it. Until then..... we work with what we got and I got some BIG ideas for next year : )

I'll post more pics after the last performance.

A Midsummer Night's Dream - Sneak Peak

The performances are coming up this Wednesday, Friday, and the following Tuesday. Here is a sneak peek from one of our dress rehearsals. If you'd like to come let me know. It is free and should be a fun time for the family.

The cute fairies.

"AWE, do I have to play a girl?"

Getting some instruction from our director. He has been wonderful!

More Easter Fun and More

Here are more pics of our Easter fun. We had our hunt a week after Easter. Matthew and Savannah had another home school dance they went to also.

Jus and Savannah at my mother's house for the big Easter egg hunt.

Savy with her accessories.

This is Justin's first Easter. He wasn't sure what to think but
he really liked those brightly colored eggs.

Matthew wouldn't miss a time to get treats.

This is my beautiful niece.

I think Tanner got into the Easter stuff the most. He's just the right age.

When you have a baby after you have a few other children, they think they have to do everything the older kids do. My parents have this bar at their house for pull ups and after watching the older kids do it he was screaming for a turn.

My mother always has prize eggs to find. Here is Brady holding up a prize he picked out.

My cute baby boys!

Tanner with all his loot.

Savy didn't want to miss out on all the fun.

Easter Egg Fun

Justin practicing his crawling skills. He's so fast that we can't keep up with everything he gets into. What happened to my calm baby?

Here is one of Savannah's eggs.

Justin just wanted to eat the egg. Yummy food coloring.

Teen Homeschool Dance
We're trying to have a dance once every month so the youth can meet other homeschoolers. There are also other youth who come with friends.

Matthew and some of his friends had a piano concert at the library.

Sausage

My friend gave me this recipe. Before I got this recipe, I hadn't eaten sausage since I worked at a turkey plant when I was 17. I learned how they made it and couldn't eat it ever since. I'll spare you the description but I can tell you it's really gross and they don't waste ANYTHNG from those turkeys (even bones). Not that I'm against bones. They're great for making broth or for giving to your dogs but I really don't want to eat them. This recipe makes some good sausage and you won't need to wonder what you are eating : )

Homemade Breakfast Sausage

1 lb ground turkey or grass fed hamburger

1/2 tsp nutmeg

1/2 tsp sage

1/2 tsp thyme

1/8 tsp cayenne pepper

1 tsp salt

Form into breakfast patties (about 1.5-2" in diameter.) This should make about 12 sausage patties. Fry in skillet or bake 350 degrees for 20-30 minutes until cooked through.

That's it and so good! If you like even like sausage.

Easter

Easter seemed really quiet this year. The kids got their Easter baskets on Saturday morning. We usually go to my mothers house for a big Easter egg hunt but my sister went to conference live with her family. I had her younger kids until 10:00pm. We went miniature golfing and got pizza. On Saturday we'll do the big Easter egg hunt. Conference was really good. It was a hard week so it was nice to relax and uplift the spirit and body.

Savy got a new summer dress!

Give Matthew a basket full of food and see a happy guy.

Tanner showing off something from his basket.

Brady looking at all his stuff.

Jussie got some new toys.
