Become as little children

Verily I say unto you, Except ye be converted, and become as little children, ye shall not enter into the kingdom of Heaven.

Whosoever therefore shall humble himself as this little child, the same is greatest in the Kingdom of Heaven.

When we first started having children, I really didn't understand this scripture. My little ones were running around messing up everything they came in contact with. They would cry and fight and draw on the walls. I just couldn't see how we had to become like little children to get into heaven. Since then, as my kids have grown, I totally understand what this scripture means. Young children are so innocent and trusting. They believe in Christ without doubting. They KNOW what you say is true and want to try to hard to do what you say. There is no room for doubt in their little minds. As they grow up and outside pressure sneaks in they start to wonder if what you have taught is true. They want to explore and see for themselves. Satan works on them and tries to tempt them. He tries to get them to do this one thing that isn't so bad until he has them tangled. I suppose this is all part of the plan but it doesn't make the journey any easier.

Satan knows that a young child will never follow his ways.

They are sweet.

They trust

They have the spirit of Christ with them.

They are fresh from Heaven.

They are open to the truth.

They LOVE unconditionally!

They serve.

They are precious.

We all need to be like little children to get into heaven. It won't be easy. We need to humble ourselves and follow Him. Even if it means to be different. Even if it means we won't be popular. Even if it means we might be shunned by those close to us. Someday each one of us will have to choose one way or the other. No one can make that choice for you. You have to make it alone. It's hard. I wish my life was simple as a child's. I wish that it could be easy to trust so fully. I wish I could believe without doubt. I wish I wasn't affected by outside pressure.

Someday?

Pride and Prejudice

All the kids did a wonderful job and the show was great! We were all worried because we really didn't have a lot of time to put this together and because of it's difficulty. They pulled it off.

Here they are getting ready to put on the show for the second night.

Mr. Collins

One of the directors and Elizabeth.

Both directors
Mr Bingley. Matthew had too much fun playing this character.

Brady played Mr. Bennet. Here he is with his old man makeup on.

Miss Lydia Bennet.

The classic Mr Bingley smile.

Halloween

I figured I'd better get the Halloween post out before Thanksgiving. We had our big Trunk or Treat party again this year but because of rain not even half of the people showed up. We were there rain or shine and it was cold but still fun.

Patrick and I were hippies.
Our adorable little lion.

The Ninja boy and Friend.

Savannah in her 80's costume. She really didn't GET the hair and wouldn't let me do it. Come on...I was the expert at BIG hair.

This is the only picture of Tanner. I don't know what happened.

The kids played games out of everyone's trunks.

Cute little L.

A few days before Halloween the kids went to a teen party. They played games, ate food, and talked with friends.

I also took Brady and Tanner to a school skating party.

That's about it.
